Accommodations

Will all the hotels have air conditioning?

Air conditioning is not standardized across Croatia, especially in coastal areas or mountainous areas known for historically cooler weather.

Activities

Is there an alternative option for Travelers who aren’t comfortable riding bikes?

If you're not comfortable riding bikes, there are alternative options to get from Korčula to Lumbarda. You can take a bus, boat taxi, or we can arrange a private transfer through our supplier (which would be at your own expense). If you choose the boat or bus, please note that you'll need to walk to certain locations where the group will be having activities. For those of you who can ride but are concerned about your fitness level, e-bikes are available to make the ride easier.

Meals

Is the water safe to drink?

Tap water is considered safe to drink in Croatia; however, due to the different mineral content, some people may get upset stomachs from the drinking water if they aren't used to it. A better option is finding filtered water rather than relying on bottled water.

Tipping

Are tips included?

Tips for Guides, drivers, and restaurant staff are not included in your trip costs. While tipping is not mandatory, it is a meaningful way to show appreciation and provides supplemental income for local teams. If they have enhanced your experience, consider rewarding their efforts with a tip. Below are tipping suggestions:

  • For Guides, it is recommended to tip $10-15 USD per person/per day

  • For Drivers, it is recommended to tip $5-10 USD per person/per day

  • For Restaurants, it is recommended to tip 10-20% of the total bill

Tips can be given in Croatian kunas or Euros.

Transfers

What is the cost of a transfer from the port to Lumbarda?

  • A water taxi costs around ~$24 EUR (~$25.01 USD)

  • A taxi (minivan) costs around ~$25 EUR (~26.05 USD)

  • A local bus costs around ~$5 EUR (~$5.21 USD)

What’s the best way to get from Lumbarda to Pržine Beach?

It’s about a 15-minute walk from Lumbarda to Pržine Beach.

Is Uber or Lyft available?

Uber and Lyft are available in most major cities like Zagreb, and Dubrovnik, as well as in coastal destinations like Split.

What does public transportation look like?

Public transport in Croatia is reliable and easy to use. Croatia’s public transport consists, above all, of an extensive bus and ferry network. You can also get around Croatia by plane, however, train travel within Croatia is unfortunately very limited.

Travel Safety

Where can I find information on travel safety?

Check out the State Department's website for the most up-to-date information on safety while traveling. To minimize the risk of pickpocketing it is recommended to be discreet: don’t flash anything of value, keep a firm hand on your camera, and carry shoulder bags slung across your body. Overall it’s a good idea to avoid badly lit areas completely at night and deserted inner-city areas by day.

Visa

Do I need a Visa?

For Visa information, click here. Make sure your passport is valid for at least six months after you return home and has two or more blank pages. Otherwise, some countries may not let you enter.
