Accommodations

Is WiFi available?

Cell service is available in Victoria Falls and Kasane, but service will be spotty or nonexistent outside these main cities.

Activities

How do I know which activity my group will be participating in on Day 3, the Livingstone Island Breezer and Devil's Pool or the Adventure Jet Boat Beneath the Falls?

Each activity is seasonally dependent. The Livingstone Island Breezer and Devil's Pool is available in the Low-Water Season, typically mid-August to mid-January, while the Adventure Jet Boat Beneath the Falls is only available in the High-Water Season. However, your finalized itinerary that you will receive around 30 days prior to departure will have your confirmed Day 3 activity.

Currency

What is the official currency in Zimbabwe?

Currently, USD is the official currency of Zimbabwe. Local payment transfer apps similar to Zelle or Venmo exist, though we highly suggest carrying small bills in US currency as paying with cash is recommended. Expect many places to not accept credit cards, or to have high fees if they do.

Are tips included?

Tips for Guides, drivers, and restaurant staff are not included in your trip costs. While tipping is not mandatory, it is a meaningful way to show appreciation and provides supplemental income for local teams. If they have enhanced your experience, consider rewarding their efforts with a tip. Below are tipping suggestions:

  • For Guides, it is recommended to tip $5-10 USD per person/per day

  • For Drivers, it is recommended to tip $3-4 USD per person/per day

  • For restaurants, it is recommended to tip 10% of the total bill

Meals

Is the water safe to drink?

The tap water in some areas of Zimbabwe is fine to drink, and in others, it is not. We would recommend you always drink bottled water to be safe.

Transfers

What does public transportation look like?

Taxis are affordable and convenient, but be careful to only hire licensed taxi drivers. Another option is the Bamba Bus, a hop-on-hop-off style bus that makes stops around town.

Is Uber or Lyft available?

No, neither are available. Taxis exist at the airport, though most will require payment in cash (USD).
