Accommodation

Can I purchase a single (private) tent?

No, we are not selling single tents for any camping trips. All Travelers will have a shared, double occupancy tent unless there is an uneven number of Travelers.

If there is an uneven number, then a single tent will be assigned to a Traveler who will be selected at random. Hosts will have a private tent if originally requested.

Can I bring my own tent?

No, the campsites we use have a maximum number of tents allowed per campsite, and for this reason, we are unable to accommodate additional tents.

Are there bathrooms at the campgrounds?

Yes! There are bathrooms at all the campgrounds, though they may be more on the simple side.

Are the sleeping pads closed-cell foam or inflatable?

They are inflatable.

Is there room in my tent for a service dog?

Yes, definitely. That said, if you intend to bring your service dog with you, please ensure you indicate this fact on your Trip Form and contact our Customer Support team to notify us.

Amenities

What is the cell phone service like in Yellowstone National Park?

Cell service is pretty spotty out in West Yellowstone; there may be times where there won't be much service at all, and/or the service can be quite slow and unreliable. Enjoy your time off the grid!

Will I have access to potable water throughout the day?

There are places to refill water bottles in certain areas inside the park, typically at Visitor Centers. We recommend bringing something reusable that is easy to carry, like a hydration bladder or larger water bottle. Hydration bladders are not necessary, although they can be nice to have on longer hikes. A couple of larger water bottles will also do the trick!

Will I have the opportunity to rent bear spray for this trip? Will I even need it?

Bear spray can be rented if you'd like to be overly cautious. Your Guides will be equipped with bear spray, so you don't need your own unless it makes you feel more comfortable. The chance you need to use it is incredibly small, but if you want to, just chat with your Guide, and they'll be able to help you find some to rent.

Food

What types of snacks are provided, if any?

You'll have the opportunity to buy your favorite snacks to make sure you have exactly what you like, but the lunches that will be provided will have some items intended to be eaten as snacks. These are typically things like granola bars, chips, and trail mix.

Transportation

Can I drive myself and park at the campsite?

We highly discourage Travelers from driving to the campsite but may be able to accommodate (1) per trip based on special requests and Operator approval. If more than (1) Traveler is requesting to drive, we may need to deny all requests to be fair to all Travelers.

We encourage you to park your vehicle at the airport or other nearby location and meet your group on Day 1 for the group transfer to the campsite.

Due to campsite regulations, there is a limited number of vehicles allowed per campsite. Also, the group enters and visits parks before setting up camp, meaning you would need to pay your entrance fees since you aren’t in the same vehicle as the group. Cell service is also non-existent in many of the parks that the groups visit, so it would be nearly impossible for you to connect with the guide to coordinate where to meet if you happen to get separated on the drive to and within the park.

Is there a separate location where I can park my car other than the airport?

You can park at any parking facility you choose so long as you meet the group at the airport on time.

Are arrival airport transfers flexible on timing?

No, they are not. All of these trips are camping trips, so the group will transfer from the airport to the first campsite, typically a long driving distance. You must book within flight guidelines to ensure there’s enough time for all activities on the itinerary for Day 1. No exceptions can be made here.

If you miss the included transfer, you'll be responsible for getting yourself to the campsite.

Are departure airport transfers flexible on timing?

No, they are not. Due to driving distance from the last location to the airport, you will need to book their departure flights within the flight guidelines to join the group departure airport transfer. Otherwise, you will need to arrange transportation to get back to the airport for their departure. No exceptions can be made here.

If you have booked an early departure flight, we encourage you to book them later to meet flight guidelines.

Please double-check your Trip Page for specific flight guidelines for each trip.

Are there charging ports in the vans?

It depends on the van, but there are usually between 3-6 charging ports per vehicle. We'd recommend you bring a charging bank/battery just in case!
