With this new feature:
You can now create a list of Alternate Hotels, that can be tied to any itinerary.
For each set date, you can assign the specific hotel from your Alternate Hotels list that will be used.
“Or similar” will still be shown in the traveler/host view, recognizing that last-minute changes may still occasionally occur (e.g., construction, performance issues).
Two Key Places You'll Manage Hotels
Itinerary Level
At this level, you can manage your list of alternate hotels. You can add all of the possible hotels you carry contracts with and add as many alternate hotels as you may have. When adding these alternate hotels at the itinerary level, you will have access to choose from these hotels within each set date.
Add a Default Hotel (automatically displayed if no alternate is selected).
Add Alternate Hotels (any other hotels you may use for different set dates).
These hotels are not visible to Hosts, Travelers, or on the Public Trip Page! Only the chosen hotels for that set date will be displayed.
Each Accommodation Tile has been updated with the following:

Edit Default Hotel
View Alternatives Drop Down Menu:
Edit Alternative Hotel (same fields as previously)
Swap Alternative (make the selected hotel the new default)
Delete Alternative Hotel
If you delete a hotel that’s assigned to any set date, it will be removed from all set dates and revert to the default hotel.
Important Notes:
When looking at the alternative hotels, the number of nights cannot be changed. You can only change the number of nights when setting up the default hotel at the itinerary level.
You can add unlimited alternate hotels.
If you only work with one hotel, no need to add alternates.
Itinerary Inventory (Set Date Level)
This is where you can assign which hotel will be used for each specific departure.
Navigate to the Itinerary Inventory section of the Review Details tab.
Select the desired set date and click Edit.
Each city or different accommodation within the itinerary, will display an accommodation tile where you can make your hotel selections.
Use the drop-down to choose between the default or any alternate hotels.
If there are no alternates for a specific city or area of the itinerary, there will only be the default hotel as an option.
You are unable to modify the details of the hotels on the set dates level. You will need to make any adjustments on the accommodation tile on the itinerary level.
You are able to create a new Alternative hotel at this stage, all of the relevant fields will need to be completed as normal.

Note: When you duplicate a set date, any hotel selections will also be duplicated — always review the selections carefully!
What If You Don’t Have a Contracted Hotel Yet?
No problem — continue using the Default Hotel listed in your itinerary.
Once the actual hotel is confirmed:
If the set date has not been requested or confirmed → update the hotel at the Set Date level.
If the set date has been confirmed → update it by editing the trip during the Technical itinerary phase or contact a Trova Team member to adjust on your behalf.
