Travelers: Understanding Automated Final Booking Payments

We’ve updated our payment process to make it easier than ever to stay on top of your trip payments. Here’s everything you need to know about how automated final payments work and how to check your payment status.

How to Know if You're Enrolled in Automatic Final Payment

You can check whether your Booking includes an automatic final payment by logging into your Traveler Portal.

  • Log in to your Portal.

  • Go to your Trip Overview or Manage My Booking tab.

  • If your trip includes automated payment, you’ll see the scheduled payment date clearly indicated.

  • Whether your trip includes an automatic final payment will also be shown at the time of booking and in your portal

When is the Final Payment Due?

The remaining balance of the Booking price is due 90 days before your Trip start date. This is your Final Payment Due Date.

What Happens if You’re Enrolled in Automatic Final Payment?

If your Booking includes an automatic final payment:

  • On your Final Payment Due Date, TrovaTrip will automatically charge the remaining balance (75%) to the payment method on file. Typically, this is the payment method that you used to make the down payment on the order.

  • If the charge is successful, you’re all set!

  • If the charge fails, you’ll receive an email notification and have 72 hours to complete the payment manually using any accepted method.

  • If the balance is not paid within 72 hours of the failed charge attempt, your Booking may be canceled in accordance with our cancellation policy (see Sections 5.7 and 5.8 of our Terms)

Prefer to Pay Early or Use a Different Payment Method?

Even if you’re routed into automatic payment, you may choose to manually pay the balance early using a different payment method, as long as it’s before the Final Payment Due Date. Just log into your traveler portal and make the payment through the Manage My Booking or Trip Overview tabs.

What if You Book After the Final Payment Due Date?

If your Booking is confirmed after the Final Payment Due Date has passed, your card on file will be automatically charged for the full remaining balance at the time of confirmation.
