Itineraries for Hosts differ from Travelers during the Host journey. Whereas Travelers will really only see a basic overview of the itinerary on your trip page or on their booking until closer to the trip starts, Hosts have more visibility into the itinerary. You can see what your Traveler sees and more information on our Traveler itinerary article.
Editing Itinerary Details
Up until your trip closes, you have the option to add or edit informal gatherings where there are openings in your itinerary. This can be done from the Portal on your trip page, under the Itinerary tab. Organizing informal gatherings is a great way to drive community participation and engagement on-trip. Even if this is as simple as meeting at a local park or getting a cup of coffee with your group! We encourage getting your gatherings added early.
The Detailed Itinerary
The trip itinerary will show a basic overview of activities, days, locations, etc. However, it is not finalized until our Operator sends us the detailed itinerary around 30 days before the trip starts. Until then, you may see the hotel name (or comparable) or activities only having an approximate duration. This is for various reasons, including:
Non-finalized or incomplete information from passengers.
The Operator has not yet booked with their hotel or restaurant vendors.
Host/Traveler security! We will not display exact locations and/or times to anyone not booked on your trip.
When a hotel is listed as (or comparable) this means that if the first-choice hotel from the itinerary is unable to be booked we will then find another that is the most similar in location, capacity, and quality. This can happen when we need to accommodate special requests, single-room availability, or other travel needs.
Around 30 days, your trip itinerary in the Portal will be updated with all of the finalized details of when, where, and how you will experience your trip! As a reminder, this will only displayed to you and your Travelers for your safety.
