Approving and Rejecting Bookings

As part of Trova's commitment to the safety of our community and our Hosts,' we put the power of traveler approval directly into the Hosts' hands. We realize that for a lot of our Hosts, this may be the first time they have done a community meetup at all, or are nervous about traveling with strangers. We strongly believe in building community everywhere, and encourage our Hosts to use their discretion when accepting Travelers.

Managing Bookings

From your Trip page on the Host Portal, navigate to the Bookings tab. Here you can view and manage your booking requests. You can see your potential earnings, bookings in each status, and your Traveler list.

Booking Status

  • Pending - Travelers who have successfully requested a spot on your trip, but have not yet been approved. These Travelers have paid at least the down payment on their booking.

  • Waitlisted - Travelers who have not paid for a spot on your trip, but who have requested to be notified when a spot opens on your trip. This only happens when Hosts have met their maximum passenger number on their trip. Open spots on the waitlist are first-come, first-serve.

  • Confirmed - These are the Travelers that the Host has approved from Pending. They are confirmed as going on the trip.

Hosts have the option to auto-confirm Travelers once a trip has confirmed. However, we encourage first-time Hosts to manually approve their Travelers for a better experience.

If you decide to reject a Traveler for any reason, we will honor this and respect your privacy. We will inform the Traveler of their canceled booking, refund any amount they had paid, and let them know that booking approval is at our Host's discretion. However, we will not provide any details to the passenger, unless under extenuating circumstances.

Any violation of our Community Guidelines can result in removal from both a trip and our platform. This includes Hosts and Travelers.

Traveler List

Also on your Bookings tab will be the Traveler list, with an overview of your passengers for this trip. It will display their booking status, paid amounts, and traveler details. Traveler details displayed here include:

  • Name and Email

  • Self-identified gender

  • Age

  • Location

  • Instagram handle

  • Booking status

  • Payment status
